The Bangkok event will officially replace the 2026 IFMAR Electric Track World Championship that had originally been scheduled for Foshan, China.

IFMAR thanked competitors, manufacturers, team managers, and national organizations for their patience and understanding during the uncertainty surrounding the originally planned event in China. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a fair, professionally managed, and world-class RC racing championship for all participants.

2027 IFMAR 1/12 Electric Track World Championship Update

Regarding the 1/12 Electric Track World Championship, IFMAR stated that the overwhelming majority of feedback received from existing entrants favored holding the event on a carpet track.

As a result, IFMAR will now seek hosting proposals from its four regional member blocs (BLOCs) and intends to select a suitable venue in 2027 for the next IFMAR 1/12 World Championship.

Further information regarding the 2027 IFMAR 1/12 Electric Track World Championship will be announced once additional details become available.

Cancellation of Costa Rica IFMAR 1/10th worlds event.

IFMAR was just informed by FAMAR that the Costa Rica event needs to be cancelled due to noise issues with a neighbor party. Despite offers from the club to build a wall the local government is not willing to cooperate. To avoid late minute cancelling due to not having the necessary permits the organizing club decided to cancel now with about 5 months to go. IFMAR understand this is not the NEWS we want to submit, but this is force majeure and beyond IFMAR and the organizer. IFMAR are looking into the possibility to move to another location.
