MINIPRO R/C Car Inertia Motor Dyno V2

The new MINIPRO R/C Car Inertia Motor Dynamometer (Dyno) V2 is designed for testing all types of R/C motors, whether brushed or brushless. The load on the motor is produced by the inertia flywheel unit, which is enclosed by a high-quality 6061 aluminum frame to protect against high RPM speeds. An embedded dyno board accurately measures the acceleration of the DUT (device under test).

The dyno uses a pinion/gear combination to accelerate the inertial mass (flywheel). The embedded dyno board measures the flywheel’s inertia (the resistance of an object to changes in its state of motion) and calculates the time it takes to accelerate it. From this data, it calculates the output power and torque of the DUT. The dyno repeatedly measures and calculates power in small increments to produce an accurate graph of the motor’s power characteristics on a PC.

Precision, often referred to as “repeatability,” is crucial in a dynamometer. This means that testing the same electric motor multiple times should yield consistent results. Our dyno achieves repeatable test results using the built-in throttle controller sensor (license required).
